Trapper's Sushi celebrates 20 years in business!

Trapper’s is so excited to announce that it is our 20 year anniversary!

Founded in 2004 as Sushi Town in Bonney Lake, WA, Trapper’s Sushi Co. has grown to 15 restaurants in 3 states and employs nearly 700 people in Washington state, Arizona, and Texas. This success is made possible by our incredible customer base and dedicated, friendly staff.

“Customer loyalty is huge,” says Trapper’s Founder Trapper O’Keeffe. “It says that we’re a staple in the community, that we try to give back. The whole purpose of Trapper’s is to give ordinary people extraordinary opportunity. Being here for 20 years puts us in the cement, that we’re not going anywhere and that we’re going to reach those goals. It’s very humbling to be here for 20 years, and it’s gone by so fast. We started off with two employees and now we’re close to 700. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next 20 years at Trapper’s.”

“We’ve had a lot of changes over the last 20 years with how big our business has gotten and how many employees we’ve been able to give opportunity to,” says Farrah Scott, Trapper’s CEO. “20 years to us, to me, means more of that moving forward. We’re very excited to keep providing opportunity. We have the partnership program in place and successfully running and all I can think about is the next 5, 10, or 20 years beyond this and how much more opportunity we’re gonna be able to give.”

Trapper’s Sushi Co. has big plans for our next 20 years, driven by the loyal and hardworking employees that make Trapper’s the successful business it is today. “Our vision of growing Trapper’s is to be an employee partnership style of restaurant, where we’re growing people within through the Wingfield Program, which Farrah put together,” says O’Keeffe. “It’s a program that allows people that work for Trapper’s to have a career, and possibly a partnership, and growing organically that way. That’s my vision for how we’re going to grow Trapper’s and how we’re going to get to the next level.”

Throughout the last 20 years and all the challenges and changes that have come with it, our service model of learning the customer’s name and providing the best food and service possible remains the bedrock of our mission and our success.

“The biggest thing is just providing the best food and service possible in order to get there,” says Scott. “The customers are huge to us. We’re so thankful to be able to provide for the community and also provide these opportunities for our employees. It’s because of the customers loving the product, getting to know our staff, hearing about the opportunities that we give, and being so loyal to us that we’re able to do this. That’s the vision for the next 20 years. Continue to grow in that way, continue to serve the guests the best way possible, and provide those opportunities for the employees and give back to them since they’re the ones in here working hard every day.”

To celebrate our 20th anniversary, Trapper’s Sushi Co. will be providing many special opportunities to the customers that have supported our business throughout our 20 years. In the month of August, we will be celebrating these Trapper’s Fanatics and saying thank you for everything they have allowed us to achieve.

“Without the customers supporting Trapper’s and always being there for us,” says O’Keeffe, “it helps us provide those opportunities, because without our customers, there is no Trappers’.”

Thank you so much to our loyal fans and employees who have made all of this possible. We are so grateful and humbled to serve you every day. Here’s to another 20 years of great sushi and good vibes!
