Trapper’s Sushi Co. lives by the acronym ‘TRAPCHK’. What is TRAPCHK? TRAPCHK represents Trapper’s core values: Teamwork, Respect, Accountability, Professionalism, and Kindness.

These values are embodied at Trapper’s by hiring ‘TRAPCHKers’, giving back to the community, and partnering with local programs like Vadis.

Vadis’ mission is: “to provide people with disabilities opportunities and experiences to fulfill their economic and human potential.” The local agency is dedicated to assisting businesses to recruit and retain employees with disabilities. Vadis grew from serving 25 people in the early years and now serve over 800 people per month in King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, Thurston, and Mason Counties.

“Recipients of our Employer of the Year awards are chosen for their conviction to workforce inclusion, their community advocacy to business partners and peers - heralding supported employment and, most of all, because of their unwavering belief that everyone has abilities and value to add to their team,” Vadis’ website states.

Vadis presented Trapper’s Sushi Co. the 2020 Employer of the Year award for their outstanding dedication to inclusive employment and community support.

Trapper accepted the award with gratitude and will continue to live by his purpose: “To give ordinary people, extraordinary opportunity”. You can find Trapper’s Sushi Co.’s current employment opportunities here.
