Ocean's Kitchen opens new seafood facility in Kent, WA, will supply all Trapper's surimi products

Ocean’s Kitchen, a Kyokuyo Co. consolidated subsidiary, has opened a massive 7,214 ㎡ seafood processing facility in Kent, WA. Trapper’s Sushi has long used the Kyokuyo to create our signature imitation krab, and once the Kent facility begins operation later this month, all Trapper’s Sushi imitation krab will be Made in the USA.

The technologically advanced factory hosts machinery and staff to cut, process, pasteurize, and package industry leading imitation krab, made to Trapper’s Sushi specifications. It will also host a full office for quality assurance, food safety, and shipping, along with cold storage facility. The imitation krab, used in many fan favorite sushi rolls like The Mountain and Bonney Lake, will be shipped freshly made to Trapper’s Sushi restaurants across Washington state.

“The amount of care and effort Kyokuyo took to perfect this product for Trappers Sushi was extremely impressive and appreciated by all of us,” said Trapper’s CEO Farrah Scott. “It took months of collaboration and testing to accomplish the perfect product that is now the Trapper’s Sushi gold standard.”

Kyokuyo and JFC International also supply and distribute Trapper’s crystal shrimp, bay scallops, and Trapper Bites. These products form the backbone of some of our most popular rolls and appetizers. “We are honored to support this new chapter for Kyokuyo and their first plant the United States,” said Scott.

The Ocean’s Kitchen facility will come online in Q1 of 2025.
